Thank you for stopping by my new blog 'Tyger Talks Trash'. Depending on how you know me, you will have found yourself here based on different things. Those of you who know me as Tyger, probably came here via Tyger's Tidbits thanks to my Digital Scrapbooking Kits and PSP Tagging. I haven't created anything new for you guys in a very long time. Life just got in the way. It became a full time job managing my stores, promoting via social media, running my CT team and all of the other stuff that comes along with it! I already have a full time job, so it just was not something I could keep on top of! I was also nearing the end of my degree so I put crafting on the back burner for a while, not just designing my kits, but also making cards etc. It was always my intention to get back into it, but one thing happened then another and before I knew it it had been well over 18 months since I released a new product! Then I realised that I was actually done with it! I am an outsider in the community I was once very much at the heart of and I find myself lacking any real desire to work my way back in! My kits remain on sale on my website Tyger-Net and they always will be there, but I won't be doing much in the way of promoting them!
Even although I came to the realization that I was no longer interested in designing digital scrapbooking, I wasn't done with crafting and I really wanted to get back into it. After I graduated, I got out all of the paper, embellishments, tools etc I had in storage and threw away anything that was damaged or ugly! I still had lots left and I really wanted to use it. However, I was still stuck for time! I needed something quick and dirty! That is when I discovered Smashing - I've gone into it in much more detail on my 'What is Smashing?' page, so all I will say here is that it is like scrapbooking, but messier! I was looking for a fun way to record my Weight Loss Journey and came across smash books dedicated to the subject! I have always been a fly by the seat of my pants kind of a girl so the unstructured feel of smashing really appealed to me! From that moment I was totally hooked. I found Smash*aholics on Facebook and knew I was home! Every single person in that group is just lovely! I felt a real sense of community in the group, something I hadn't felt in the PSP world for a long time - even before my hiatus! That led me to the sister group for Penpals, Swaps & RAKs and I love that group even more. I am now regularly sending and receiving 30 pieces of mail a month ranging from letters and postcards to packages of goodies ready for smashing!
I've learned so much from these ladies, not just about smashing, but also Pocket Letters and just their daily lives. I love them all and I am so happy to have found them! I still love my PSP buddies, but it is always good to have new friends, right?
So that leads me to creating this new blog. I am getting so into doing all of this and I really want to start sharing some of my ideas, offering tutorials and possibly even adapting some of those Tyger's Tidbits scrapkits into Printables that can be used in Smashing, card making, journalling and anything else that tickles your fancy! I hope that you will stick around and join me on this journey.
